For Nuffield Health’s 2015 brand campaign, they decided to go for a personal approach, showcasing some of the amazing stories that they, as an organisation, help to create. Tony, the founder of England’s blind football team, is another great example of this.
This film tells the story of Tony Larkin, former England Blind Football coach and a pioneer of UK blind sport. He has worked for over a decade in developing the sport and taking England to the final of the blind football’s most prestigious competition, the World Cup. This is his story
As part of a six-part series, we chose Tony as a participant not only because of his amazing story, but also because he fit perfectly with Nuffield’s target demographic. His presentation and general demeanour came across very natural on camera and the blind footballers were a dream to work with.
The Sony A7s was my choice of camera on this shoot as we wanted to use the DJi Ronin to get some tracking shots of the players training. The underslung mode of the gimbal performed excellently and the Leica lenses created the cinematic feel that I was aiming for.
